My first year at Clovis High School was a difficult one.  Many of the former choir students did not sign up for choir again.  The school district had number rules as part of the evaluation process and we had to scramble to get enough students to be in choir.  I taught Choraliers Concert Choir, Chamber Singers, Men's Choir and Women's Choir, and worked in the resourse center (detention hall).

Over the Christmas break one of our students, Eric Anderson, suffered an accident and later died.  The choir was asked to sing at his funeral and following that event, and the several days our students and I spent working through this experience, many students decided to join choir and so second semester our numbers increased dramatically.  Our accompanist this year was Kara Netzer.
